Innovation & Professional Learning Coordinator
Are you the educational innovator ready to shape the future of education?
Do you get excited about the endless possibilities of AI in education? Are you a passionate teacher and believe in empowering other teachers with cutting-edge tools, innovation and information, while keeping ethics at the heart of everything you do? If you're nodding enthusiastically, we want to hear from you!
We're seeking a dynamic Innovation & Professional Learning Coordinator to join our forward-thinking K-12 college community. This isn't your typical education role - you'll be the catalyst for transformation, the bridge between today's teaching and tomorrow's possibilities be it with technology, pedagogy transformation or innovative ideas.
What You'll Be Doing
Be Our Innovation Champion
- Lead the charge in implementing game-changing teaching practices across our entire campus.
- Curate the coolest AI tools and digital resources (ethically and sustainably).
- Transform data into insights that help our teachers teach better in this day and age and the future.
- Design assessment guidelines that embrace AI while keeping academic integrity intact.
- Create future focussed classroom engagement strategies that improve involvement, equity and excellence across the college.
Inspire & Empower Our Teaching Heroes
- Design professional learning for our teachers with solid outcomes that turn professional development from a chore into a choice.
- Facilitate weekly sessions that spark "aha!" moments.
- Coach early-career teachers from nervous newbies to confident educators.
- Create digital badges and credentials that make learning addictive (in the best way!).
Build Community & Culture
- Foster a culture where taking risks and trying new things is celebrated.
- Connect with education networks and not just stay ahead of the curve but own that space.
- Host learning events that have other schools asking "How do they do it?"
- Build our student skill set into ethical users of technology.
Engage Our Wider Community
- Run workshops that get parents excited about AI (not scared of it!).
- Create podcasts, articles, and resources that are read and discussed.
- Build a reputation as the school that "gets it" when it comes to technology and our students.
You're Perfect for This Role If You:
Must-Haves:
- Hold current NSW teacher registration (NESA).
- Have the right to work in Australia.
- Possess relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Can turn complex tech concepts into "Oh, I get it now!" moments.
- Understand the importance of innovating at every opportunity to make life easier, not harder.
- Have an active open mind and understand that learning comes from everywhere.
- Manifesting our BDC values of mutual respect, inclusivity, integrity, service, courage, justice and generosity of spirit.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with AI tools in an educational setting.
- A track record of creating professional learning that people enjoyed.
- A spirited and visionary teacher who is viewed as a natural leader.
- A growth mindset that's contagious.
What's In It For You?
- Make Real Impact: See your ideas transform teaching and learning across an entire college.
- Stay Cutting-Edge: Work with the latest educational technology and AI tools.
- Professional Growth: Build expertise in one of education's fastest-growing fields.
- Supportive Environment: Join a leadership team that backs innovation.
- Work-Life Balance: While some flexibility is needed, we respect your time.
- Teaching Component: Keep your classroom connection with 0.6 teaching load.
Ready to Join Our Mission?
We're not looking for someone who just talks about innovation - we want someone who lives and breathes it. Someone who sees AI as a teaching assistant, not a replacement. Someone who believes every teacher can be empowered to do amazing things with the right information, support and tools.
If you're ready to be part of something bigger than yourself, to shape how education adapts to our rapidly changing world, and to have serious fun while doing meaningful work, we'd love to meet you.
How to Apply
Send us your resume and a cover letter that shows us your personality (we want to know the real you!). Tell us about a time you used innovation to help someone embrace change or learn something new. Bonus points if you can make us smile while reading it!
