Student Services Officer - Customer Service

Coffs Harbour, Australia

Reference: 6828863

Do you thrive in the eye of the storm? Picture this: You're a calm, capable character at the heart of a bustling school, seamlessly juggling phone calls, student emergencies, lost property mysteries, and the occasional "I've forgotten my swimmers for today's lesson" drama all before recess.

At Bishop Druitt College, we take student connection seriously, we're invested in supporting the individual needs of every student that we feel privileged to develop here at BDC.

We're now seeking an experienced admin guru who is both organised and highly energetic to join our Student Services team in a Customer Services role. You will stop traffic with your smile and open doors with your enthusiasm to help!

The role

The Student Services Officer is the friendly face students see when they need assistance, the voice parents trust on the phone, and the organisational wizard that helps to keep momentum on the student services desk. You will problem-solve on a minute-by-minute basis whilst engaging positively and helpfully with our students, parents and staff at the school. You will be working on daily tasks and weekly projects that involve whole-school administration, initiatives, and keeping things running smoothly.

The role is Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.06pm over 45 weeks of the year (38 of those weeks in term time). This role is not only about supporting administrative tasks, but also about ensuring there is a friendly, customer service-oriented face at the student services desk for all.

What We're Looking For:

  • A Customer Service guru with excellent communication skills and high empathy who genuinely enjoys working with young people.
  • An Organiser who can juggle multiple tasks without breaking a sweat
  • Tech-Savvy Problem Solver who is comfortable with TASS, Google Apps, Microsoft Office, and even Canva
  • Team Player Extraordinaire who's flexible, positive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidentiality Champion who handles sensitive information with professionalism and care
  • A dedicated Expert with qualifications in Business Administration (or equivalent experience), a current NSW Working with Children Check and a current First Aid Certificate (or the willingness to obtain one).

What we offer:

Apart from this being one of the funnest places to work in town, in this short-term (12-month) maternity leave contract role you will be a part of a wonderfully inclusive and supportive team who will provide you with hands-on training to ensure you are also gaining the skills you need to be successful. We also offer work/life balance at its best with only 45 weeks/year required in this role.

Ready to be the heartbeat of our school community?

If you're someone who gets energised by helping others and wants to be part of something meaningful, we want to hear from you!
